Choice… People keep speaking this word as if they understand it. People say they want choice - they want to be able to choose whatever it is they want. Then they abdicate the responsibility of said choice. As Inigo Montoya tells Vizzini in The Princess Bride, “You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means”.That’s what I think so often when I hear someone use the word “choice”. There are ramifications of choices we make - both short term and far reaching long term. Take your emotions out of it. I don’t mean become a robot or non-human. I mean stop letting MSM, SM, and all the other voices hell-bent on driving you into anger and fear… stop letting those voices be what drives you to your deciding factor. A population making decisions from fear and anger is easy to manipulate. Don’t be easily manipulated. Ask yourself better questions. Get quiet. Stand in calm. Be still and know…As Jim Rohn said, “we have both the capability and responsibility to make better choices beginning today.”It’s just as true today, as it was back in 2009 when I originally posted the quote, and as it is every single day. James Clear says in Atomic Habits, “Your outcomes are a lagging measure of your habits. Your net worth is a lagging measure of your financial habits. Your weight is a lagging measure of your eating habits. Your knowledge is a lagging measure of your learning habits. Your clutter is a lagging measure of your cleaning habits. You get what you repeat."Your habits are important - they are a measure of your choices. Choose wisely.#choosewisely #makebetterchoices #habits #leadership #askbetterquestions #seekwisdom

You had me at "The Princess Bride" (my #1 favorite film of all time). But, as a person who has made numerous bone-headed and good choices, I agree that choice is often misunderstood. Too many choices and the mind freezes up. Not enough and we feel stifled. And regardless of whether the choice we made was good or bad, we can always learn from the repercussions ... as long as we own the choice we made.

Angela, your insights on choice resonate deeply. It’s crucial to recognize that our decisions shape not just our immediate circumstances but also our long-term paths. By fostering a mindset of reflection and intentionality, we empower ourselves to break free from external influences. Let’s encourage each other to ask those better questions and cultivate habits that lead to meaningful outcomes. Thank you for this thought-provoking reminder!

Yes to all this! Especially this part: "A population making decisions from fear and anger is easy to manipulate." Thank you for speaking up on these important topics! For such a time as this, we will continue to lead those God has entrusted to us.

When you see 0.01, it doesn’t look like much. It’s easy to underestimate it.But when 0.01 compounds consistently over time……it’s hard to ignore it.It’s the same thing with your habits.Reading for 10 minutes may seem inconsequential. It’s not life-changing.It’s unlikely to be particularly insightful. But something starts to happen when you read for 10 minutes every day for years. You start to see the common themes influencing different authors’ thoughts. You make more connections between your life experiences and the concepts you read about.Your perspectives, beliefs, and ways of thinking shift and transform how you are in the world. What are you doing to be 1% better today?#HabitCompounding #Consistency #IncrementalProgress #LongTermGrowth #ReadingHabits #PerspectiveShift #PersonalGrowth #MindsetTransformation

Hello everyone,Recently, I've delved into James Clear's book, "Atomic Habits" by James Clear and stumbled upon an effective method for transforming undesirable habits: the Habits Scorecard and Pointing and Calling technique. Here's how it works: Begin by creating a list of your daily habits, categorizing them as either good, bad, or neutral. Next, vocalize the action you're about to take and its expected outcome. Verbalizing these intentions serves to heighten your awareness, preventing mindless adherence to routine. While the approach may come across as gimmicky at first, I've been experimenting with it for a few weeks now, and the results are tangible. This method not only serves as a practical tool for habit transformation but also highlights the importance of conscious decision-making in our daily lives. Give it a try, and you might be surprised by the positive impact it can have on reshaping your habits. 😊 👍#atomichabits #jamesclear #effectiveness #habits #selfimprovement

Heart or head? Or both? The jury is still out on this one. Here's my take: when in grave doubt, go with your heart—even in business.I've never regretted any decisions made with my heart, even if they've landed me in not-so-good situations. These choices always make for a good story, full of irrationality. If you never follow your heart, you'll always wonder—what if? And if you try but fail, you will be comforted with the thought that you at least tried. But what if your head says something different? In my book, the heart should ideally lead, but you can try aligning your head with your heart. For instance, if you're not happy in your job, give yourself a timeline to quit—build your savings, create a cushion to fall back on, and then leave. Providing for yourself or your family is important, but so is honoring your heart (and yourself) at some point.Sometimes in conversations, I can clearly see what someone wants in their heart, but they let their heads get in the way. The head is all about fears and noise, while the heart is clear about what it wants. But I will admit - it can be tough to see the difference. Requires a lot of introspection.Curious about your thoughts on this one—do you let your heart rule over your head? Or vice versa? Any interesting anecdotes?#FridaypostP.S. Friday is the day I post something about life/something not strictly business.

I like to take warm showers.Tony Robbins suggests plunging into 57-degree water.Mark Wahlberg suggests waking up at 2:30am.Bill Gates suggests reading 1 book a week.Don't apply advice from people who have nothing to lose.Remember that these types of habits:-were adopted after they found success-isn't what made them successful people-are easier to do with a 9+ figure net worthDon't feel bad or unsuccessful, if you don't do these things.Instead:1. Recognize the source: Seek advice from those with genuine experience and stakes, not just anyone.2. Your heroes were once beginners: Admired figures started where you are; value their early steps, not just their current habits.3. Walk your own path: Every journey is unique; create yours rather than recreating others.4. Evolution over imitation: Understand that successful people's habits evolve; focus on what fits where you are.5. Celebrate small wins: Every progress, big or small, is a testament to your determination.6. Trust Your Instincts: Always balance advice with your own intuition and trust your journey.Don't compare your starting line to someone else's finish line.Draw inspiration from their paths.

It is never too late to do something about the choices made in life. It is up to yourself to correct this and make it happen. Life happens and changes everyday. Therefore be flexible to the changes in life, the choices made and the results. If not look at yourself for the change and or changes that needs to happen in life. Life never brought the manual...make it happen for yourself. Write your own manual and book!

Many got to where they wanted because of Ego but many faced their own ruin and fall from the top because of Ego. Instead of learning how to succeed, took on the path to learn why even the greatest people of all time fall ↘️When we live with inflated ego, we lose connection with authenticity, with ourselves and the people around us and reality. We can’t improve because we keep “pumping” ourselves up. Social media requires us to pump ourselves bigger than real life so to “hook”, get attention, so to get messages across. But the “getting” can feel quite tiring thus reflecting on our bigger purpose is important to keep us grounded and heading towards the right direction - the direction that feels aligned with our values. While with Over-pumping : doing this over a long period of time - how do we not lose the essence of ourselves? The authenticity? The real connection? Social media when used without clear intention does leave people chasing cheap dopamine instead of the real fulfillment from deep work, learning and contemplation and being in the moment. Sure. It’s a tool. But be detached. It doesn’t determine your real worth. Go out and connect for real. For we are more than just a “big round glamorous stylish looking head shot” on the screen. A gentle reminder to self and friends to #behuman 🫰✨When we learn about our own ego at play, we learn about others too. We learn to see people for who they are. Ego makes us act out of insecurity but knowing this helps us be a better people person. P/S: this book is such a good read. I wonder why didn’t I get my hands on it earlier 😆 have you read this book? #humanisingbusiness #reflection

I’m absolutely obsessed with the book Positivity by Barbara L. Fredrickson🌟 Her research confirms what I’ve always felt: positive emotions create an upward spiral. The more positivity you cultivate, the more it grows. But here’s the key—it’s not about ignoring negative emotions. Both are essential for living a balanced, fulfilling life.Fredrickson’s research reveals the magic ratio for thriving: at least 3 positive emotions to every 1 negative. How can you work towards that? Simple changes can make a huge impact: ✨ Cultivate connections—with nature, people, and gratitude. ✨ Reduce gossip, judgement, and sarcasm. ✨ Audit your media diet—what you consume impacts your mindset.By making these shifts, you can boost your positivity and limit negativity, helping you live as your ideal self. 🙌 I’m telling you, this book will change the way you see life for the better! 📚💖How will you increase your positivity today? Let me know in the comments!#personalgrowth #mindfulliving #positiveemotions #connection #nature

11 harsh truths I've learned by 35 that I wish I knew at 251. You're responsible for your happiness. Invest in yourself, set boundaries, and chase what makes you happy.2. Failure is a part of growth. Learn from your mistakes and keep moving forward.3. Absorb knowledge from every interaction. You never know what you might learn.4. Time heals almost everything. Focus on the present and trust that time will mend the rest.5. You can't please everyone. Be true to yourself and surround yourself with people who appreciate you for who you are.6. Financial security is important, but don't chase money at the expense of your happiness or well-being.7. Being busy does not equal being productive.8. Your health is everything. Take care of it.9. Overthinking leads nowhere. Trust your gut, take action, and learn from the results.10. People show their true colors in tough times. Adversity reveals true intentions and ulterior motives.11. There is no shortcut to success. Be patient and persistent, and celebrate the small wins along the way. These truths may have hit me hard by 30, but they've shaped me into who I am today. How about you? What harsh truths have you learned? #lifelesson #personalgrowth
