Region Sacred Heart William Milne Jr. Spokane Births Berenice Schlatter Spokane Service for Berenice R. Schlatter, 79, is set for 10 a.m. Thursday at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Burial will be at Newport (Wash.) Cemetery.

Born in Idaho, Mrs. Schlatter died Sunday. She graduated from Newport High School and attended Whitworth College. She worked as a secretary at St. Luke's Hospital in Spokane and later moved to Idaho.

She returned to Spokane and worked at Deaconess Medical Center and retired as executive secretary to the administrator. She was a member of the Deaconess Auxiliary Her husband, Vern Schlatter, preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons, Mike Adams and Jerry Schlatter, both of Spokane; two daughters, Gail Simmons of Seattle and Linda Gilbert of Woodinville, and five granddaughters. and Mary Shannon of Los Angeles; two sisters, Gerry Rooney of Spokane and Madeline Kane of Butte; and 10 grandchildren. Robert Ramsey Spokane Visitation for Robert F. Ramsey, 66, is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Service is set for 2 p.m.

Thursday at the funeral home. Private inurnment will be at Pines Cemetery. Mr. Ramsey died Sunday. He was born in Spokane and worked for -Pacific for 29 years.

He retired in 1993. He had served in the Army during the Korean War. Carl Eidum Deer Park Service for Carl W. Eidum, 84, will be at 1 p.m.

In 1938 he married Sally Norgaard in Duluth. They moved to Seattle in 1942, and he worked as a drywall installer and custodian for the Seattle School District. He retired in 1975 and moved to Deer Park. He was a volunteer for the Deer Park Senior Citizens Club paper collection for many years. Mr.

Eidum is survived by his wife; three daughters, Shelby Sandbak and Carole Hornbeck, both of Spokane, and Patty Jones of Seattle; a brother, Sig Eidum, and a sister, Elizabeth Curry, both of Duluth, nine grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren. Charles Shannon Spokane Vigil service for Charles J. Shannon, 79, is planned for 7 p.m. today at Hennessey Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be at 1:30 p.m.

Thursday at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes. Burial will follow at Moran Prairie Cemetery. Mr. Shannon, died Sunday, was born in Butte, and lived in Boston while attending the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He worked in the highway construction business with his father, Charles Shannon for 22 years.

The Shannon Construction over a period of 47 years, built many of the first highways and brought some of the first rural electricity to this region. Mr. Shannon had lived in Spokane for 44 years and retired in 1992 from Eastern Washington University, where he worked at the physical plant. He was active in the local Democratic Party and was president of Shannon Construction Co. of Montana and Canada.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Elks Lodge and Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. Mr. Shannon is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Shannon; a son, Chuck Shannon of Spokane; five daughters, Carol Walther and Kathleen Dix, both of Spokane, Suzanne Shannon of Ventura, Colleen Shannon of Beaverton, and Mary Shannon of Los Angeles; two sisters, Gerry Rooney of Spokane and Obituaries Mary (Webber) Stueckle Spokane Memorial service for Mary Webber Stueckle, 96, will be at 11 a.m. today at Riverview Terrace Retirement Home chapel in Spokane. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m.

at the Dusty (Wash.) Cemetery. Bruning Funeral Home in Colfax, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Stueckle, who died Sunday, was born in Odessa, Wash. She married Ed Stueckle in 1926, and they farmed near Dusty until 1961, when they moved to Opportunity.

Her husband died in 1984, and Mrs. Stueckle moved to Riverview Retirement Center. She was a member of the Liberty Lake Community Church and the Ladies Mission Society of Dusty Community Church. Survivors include two sons, Marcus and Dick Stueckle of Colfax; one daughter, Dori Elias of Spokane; seven grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Lake Community Church.

Joyce (Humphreys) Greenough Spokane Memorial service for Joyce (Humphreys) Greenough, 60, will be at 4 p.m. today at Manito Presbyterian Church. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Born in Portland, Mrs. Greenough died Sunday.

She graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and Whitworth College. She was a member of Manito Presbyterian Church, Chi Omega and the Center Pointe Board. Mrs. Greenough is survived by two sons, Scott Greenough of Cumming, and Marc Greenough of Seattle; a daughter, Lynn Greenough of Portland; her mother, Marian Humphreys of Spokane; a sister, Susan Lundeen of Olympia; a brother, Richard Humphreys of Tualatin, and her former husband, Franklin Greenough. Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Francis Swanson Spokane Memorial service for Francis L. Swanson, 79, will be at 1 p.m. today at Fourth Memorial Church. Private burial will be at Spokane Memorial Gardens. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Swanson, owner of Swanson Paint and Body Shop for 25 years, died Sunday. He was born in Aurora, and had lived in Spokane for 63 years. He joined the Navy in 1942 and served through 1945. Mr.

Swanson opened Swanson Paint and Body Shop in 1950 on Francis Avenue. His first wife, Alma (Blumer) Swanson died in 1988. He is survived by his wife, Josephine (Grinalds) Swanson; three stepdaughters, Barbara Tusant, Nancy Mortlock and Karen Altmeyer, all of Spokane; a stepson, Randall Grinalds of Liberty Lake; a sister, Bertha LaBarge, and brother, Joel Swanson, both of Spokane; and 10 stepgrandchildren. Annis Snow Mead Service for Annis E. Snow, 90, was Monday at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North.

Burial was at Fairmount Memorial Park. Mrs. Snow, who was born in Victoria, British Columbia, died Friday. She had lived in Spokane since 1944 and worked at Deaconess Hospital for 10 years as a secretary. She later worked as a secretary in a doctor's office and retired in 1971.

She was a member of Westgate Christian Church and Ivanhoe Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. Two husbands preceded her in death. Edwin Gerow died in 1942 and Ralph Snow died in 1970. Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Peterson of Mead; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

James McCaughey Spokane Private service will be held for James G. McCaughey, 84. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. McCaughey, who died Monday, was born in Harlowton, and had lived in Spokane for 50 years.

He had served in the Navy and later worked as a meat cutter. He is survived by a brother, Robert McCaughey of Goldendale, Ariz. Memorial service for William B. Milne 66, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Plymouth Congregational Church.

Private family burial will be at Spokane Memorial Gardens. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Born in Los Angeles, Mr. Milne died Sunday. He managed Perry Brothers Wholesale Foods for 40 years and was co-owner of G.M.

Food Sales in Spokane. He served on the board of directors of the Full Gospel Mission and the Spokane Food Bank. He was a member of the Optimist Club. Mr. Milne is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lorraine Milne; a daughter, Sandi Oberst of Spokane; a son, Ricky Milne of Olympia; his mother, Buena Milne of Spokane; a brother, Richard Milne of Atlanta; and two grandchildren.

Memorial contribution may be made to Hospice of Spokane or the Spokane Food Bank. Kenneth Howser Spokane Memorial service for Kenneth M. Howser, 86, is planned for 11 a.m. Thursday at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. There will be private inurnment at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mr. Howser, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Sunday. He was a graduate of North Central High School and Gonzaga University. He worked with the Roundup Grocery Co. and Manufacturers Acceptance Corp.

He was a member of Footprinters, the Elks Lodge, the Brotherhood of Friends and the Friends of the Davenport. A member of the Spokane Polo Club, he played polo and umpired polo games until 1993. His first wife, Frances Woldson, died in 1963.

He is survived by his wife, Daun; two sons, Martin and Kenneth Howser both of Spokane; and seven grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes or Gonzaga University. Clarice Deeble Spokane No service will be held for Clarice Jane Deeble at her request. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of cremation. Mrs.

Deeble, 91, died Friday. She was born in Mercer County, Mo. She worked as a licensed practical nurse in private home care and moved to Spokane 12 years ago. Survivors include a daughter, Joan Cease, and a son, Grant Deeble, both of Spokane; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Albert Wiedman Spokane A private service was held for Albert H.

Wiedman, 62. Mr. Wiedman, who was born in McCool Junction, died Saturday. He had lived in Spokane since 1971 and worked as a factory sales representative for several companies including Dayton, Firestone and General Tire. He retired in 1995 after eight years with Kumho Tires.

He was an Air Force Korean War veteran. Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Barbara Wiedman; a son, Steve Wiedman of Battle Ground, a stepson, Kent Harshman and a stepdaughter, Kami Weisse, both of Spokane; and a granddaughter. Flora Lovell Newport, Wash. Service for Flora Lovell, 87, is set for 1 p.m. Friday at lone (Wash.) Assembly of God Church.

Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in lone. ShermanKnapp Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Lovell, who died Saturday, was born in American Falls, Idaho. She moved to the lone, a area when she was 7 years old.

In 1931, she married Jim Lovell in Newport. He died in 1978. Survivors include two sons, Harold and Don Lovell, both of lone; two sisters, Bessie Lindquist of Oregon and Anna Belle Vaughn of Michigan; five brothers, Bob, Fred, Ted and Willard Newman, all of lone, and Ward Newman of Alaska; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren. Grace Hoegh Spokane A private family service will be held for Grace L. Hoegh, 83.

Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Hoegh, who died Monday, was born in North Branch, Iowa, and had lived in Spokane for more than 60 years. She worked as an office manager for R.L. Polk and Co.

Mrs. Hoegh is survived by two daughters, Fay LaFrance and Phyllis Cable, both of Spokane; six grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren. Gordon Cheney Spokane Memorial service for Gordon A. Cheney, a co-founder of the Spokane AIDS Network, is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.

Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Cheney, 58, died last Wednesday. He was born in San Francisco and graduated from Chico (Calif.) High School. He later attended Chico State College and served in the Navy as a hospital corpsman.

He had lived in Spokane for 27 years and worked for Empire Floral and Nursery as a greenhouse manager, for Chapter Eleven Restaurant as a waiter and for Medical Service Corp. in Spokane and Oakland. He co-founded the Spokane AIDS Network in 1986 and worked for the Spokane County Health District as a an AIDS for the past 10 years. He also supported historic preservation activities and had the Klein house in East Central Spokane listed in the Spokane Register of Historic Places. Survivors include his companion of 30 years, Richard Reeves; and a stepsister, Nancy Miller of Chico.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Spokane AIDS Network. Annie Means Spokane Visitation for E. Annie Means, 87, is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home.

Service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Pines Mausoleum. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Means, who died Monday, was born in New Mexico.

She had lived in Spokane for 45 years and attended Greenacres Baptist Church. She was a homemaker. Her husband of 62 years, Virgil Means, died in 1992. Survivors include two daughters, Wanda Stearns of Greenacres and Betty Jacobs of Henning, two sons, Fred Means of Milwaukie, and Jerry Means of St. John, a brother George Anderson of Weiser, Idaho; 14 grandchildren and 23 greatgrandchildren.
